Godall combines sacred history with trails, springs and olive-growing landscapes. The Església del Salvador in Godall was consecrated in 1609 and features Gothic characteristics.
Culture
The Centre d’Interpretació de la Serra de Godall is located on the upper floor of the converted Casal Municipal. The Oficina de Turisme is located on the ground floor of the same building, adding another cultural point of contact at the same location.
Landscape and Routes
The Font de l’Arboç is a natural spring in the hollow of the Barranc de l’Arboç. The Barranc de la Galera–Godall route includes terraced olive groves, dry-stone walls, scrubland and holm-oak woodland at the foot of Serra de Godall.
The Ruta de les Oliveres Mil·lenàries is a 6.26 km linear route with a low level of difficulty. It runs at the foot of Serra de Godall through an area containing the greatest concentration of centuries-old olive trees in the country.
The Ruta pel barranc de la Caldera is a 3.98 km circular route with a low level of difficulty and 206 m of cumulative ascent. The Ruta per la Via Augusta is a 17 km linear route with a low level of difficulty. It passes close to the remains of a Roman villa in the partida de l’Arion; these document the rural settlement of this area in antiquity. The different route lengths and the circular or linear formats make it easier to compare the trails. When planning your own day in Godall, the routes can be distinguished above all by their format, length and ascent. The circular route at the Caldera specifies the cumulative ascent in addition to its length; the linear routes have different parameters because of their fixed itineraries. The Oliveres route combines this formal orientation with the landscape at the foot of Serra de Godall, while the Via Augusta also identifies a historical point of interest along the way. This keeps the natural setting, character of the route and cultural history readable as distinct focal points alongside one another.
Local Flavours
