Nature by the River

Parc del Riu is located on the right bank of the Noguera Ribagorçana. It is a green area of more than 30,000 m². Parc del Riu is 50 metres from the centre of Corbins. Parc del Riu is suitable for peaceful walks and observation. Athletics, fishing and canoeing are possible in Parc del Riu.

The Aiguabarreig-Segre Noguera Ribagorçana wetland belongs to the Catalan network of protected areas, PEIN. It also belongs to the Natura 2000 site ES5130020 Aiguabarreig Segre-Noguera Ribagorçana. The wetland encompasses the course of the Noguera Ribagorçana downstream from Corbins. It extends as far as its confluence with the Segre.

Sports Trails

La Serreta can be reached via Parc del Riu. The La Serreta de Corbins bike park offers mountain biking and trail-running routes and trial tracks at various levels of difficulty. The bike park has more than 15 kilometres of prepared and signposted trails. It also includes more than 10 downhill trial tracks. A restored path leads from La Serreta to the confluence of the Noguera Ribagorçana and Segre rivers. The route is approximately 2.5 kilometres long.

Culture and History

The parish church of Sant Jaume in Corbins dates from 1736. It was designed in the Neoclassical style. Saint Quiteria is the patron saint of Corbins. A relic of Saint Quiteria is kept in the church of Sant Jaume. El Fossar Vell is a viewpoint overlooking Parc del Riu.

Cal Col·lector stands on the remains of a former Islamic castle. The existence of this castle has been documented since the 10th century. At Cal Col·lector, underground remains, part of a tower and the remains of a secret tunnel have been preserved. The Roman remains of Corbins include a villa, a mausoleum, a necropolis and an olive press. Ceramics, coins, offerings and other archaeological finds are permanently displayed in Corbins. The Roman remains of the villa, mausoleum, necropolis and olive press of Corbins have been included in the catalogue of local cultural heritage assets of Catalonia. The bridge of Corbins was rebuilt in 1933 by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Festivals and Tradition

The Festa de la Poma takes place on the first weekend of October. It celebrates the end of the fruit harvest. The Festa de la Poma includes a communal Cassola lunch. At this lunch, groups prepare their own Cassola.

Corbins is connected by the C-12 road and has three entrances to the town.
