La Pobla de Segur is the starting point of El Cinquè Llac. The circular long-distance trail in the Pyrenees also ends there. El Cinquè Llac is divided into five signposted stages and extends for more than 100 kilometres. Because of its circular route, the start and finish are in the same municipality, while the five stages divide the trail into clearly defined sections. Its length makes the route an independent part of the Pyrenean landscape of la Pobla de Segur.
Culture
In the medieval old town of la Pobla de Segur, the streets lead to the d’Orteu and d’en Parrau gates. Carrer Major is known for its old manor houses. The modernist Torre Mauri building houses the town hall of la Pobla de Segur. Casa Mauri is one of the particularly notable sights of la Pobla de Segur. The townscape therefore brings together medieval streets, manor houses and a modernist building with a public function.
The Romanesque Ermita Sant Miquel dates from the 12th century. The Ermita Sant Miquel is associated with a pilgrimage. The Falles and other Midsummer fire festivals on both sides of the Pyrenees were added to UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on 1 November 2015.
A permanent exhibition at the Espai Raier explains how rafts were built. Its contents also include the tools used by the raftsmen. A full-size raft is on display at the Espai Raier. Visitors can view and board it. In addition to the tools, the exhibition therefore also shows a raft as an illustrative object in its original size.
Trails
The Tren dels Llacs crosses four lakes. Along its route, it passes through 40 tunnels. The train also travels across more than 75 bridges. The lakes, tunnels and bridges shape the successive landscape impressions along the route.
The Via Ferrata Roca Foradada has difficulty ratings K2, K3, K4 and K5. Access to the Via Ferrata Roca Foradada is prohibited from 15 December to 1 April. The closure is in place because this is the initial breeding season for scavenging species. The stated difficulty ratings and the seasonal closure are therefore both fixed details for this route.

Nature
Bernadot is a natural area in la Pobla de Segur. The Rocs de Queralt trail passes through the upper section of Rocs de Queralt. This upper section serves as a refuge and breeding site for several species of scavengers. The trail and the natural area therefore refer to a landscape in which the scavengers’ protected area and breeding grounds play a particularly important role.
The Collegats-Boumort area lies in the wider surroundings of la Pobla de Segur. Collegats-Boumort combines the rugged Collegats gorge with green meadows and lush forests in the Boumort and Carreu mountain ranges. The gorge, meadows and forests of the two mountain ranges form the stated landscape elements of this wider surrounding area.
