Nature

Bóixols is home to the geological formation Forat i les roques de Bóixols, which forms a gorge approximately 20 metres wide. The Pujals River flows through this ravine, with its course running between rock walls more than 100 metres high. The gorge, river and rock walls all belong to the same geological formation. The limited width of the ravine and the height of the rising walls create a clear contrast in scale. The width of the gorge and the height of the rock walls describe two different spatial dimensions: the narrow cross-section of the ravine and its high lateral frame.

The peaks in the immediate vicinity of Bóixols include Cap de Plan-de-Riba, Pical Ras and Cap de Carreu. The Roca de Senyús peak is also located in the area around Bóixols. While the first three peaks mentioned are in the immediate vicinity, Roca de Senyús is considered part of the area around Bóixols. When hiking, it is advisable to check the current route and trail conditions before setting out. Such information is also part of the usual preparation for mountain-biking tours.
