Vallgorguina is home to the Museu del Bosc i la Pagesia de Vallgorguina, housed in a converted old building called Can Mainou. The museum opened in 2016. Its focus is Vallgorguina's rural past. It presents this past through forestry and farming tools. Photographs and audiovisual materials complement the presentation. In this way, the museum connects former daily working life with different forms of documented interpretation.

Culture

The Pedra Gentil dolmen, also known as the Vallgorguina dolmen, is located in the municipality of Vallgorguina and has been classified by the Generalitat de Catalunya as a Bé Cultural d'Interès Local (BCIL). The access path from the car park to the dolmen was restored as a 121-metre route with a gentler gradient. The path connection and its length are therefore specified, as is the dolmen's status as a Bé Cultural d'Interès Local (BCIL).

History

Sant Andreu de Vallgorguina is a 19th-century building in the vernacular Baroque style. The date 1848 is displayed on the church. Sant Andreu de Vallgorguina has also been documented since 1083; at that time, the church belonged to the Sant Cugat monastery. The Santa Eulàlia de Tapioles architectural complex comprises a church, a cemetery and a residential building. Thus, Vallgorguina is home both to a church with Baroque features and a year inscribed on it, as well as to an early documentary reference and a multi-part architectural complex.

Nature

The Museu del Bosc i la Pagesia de Vallgorguina contains an information point. It provides general information about the park and is also the starting point for several signposted hiking trails. The trails therefore begin at a named information location inside the museum.

A section of the Via blava de Vallgorguina a Sant Celoni runs through the Espai d'Interès Natural. The same section also runs through the Parc Natural del Montnegre i el Corredor. The two natural areas mentioned are therefore part of the route of this section.

The Ruta-Joc de les Bruixes de Vallgorguina is an interactive walk. It includes an app and hidden QR codes. Around the Pedra Gentil dolmen, the Ruta-Joc conveys stories about the witches and female healers of Vallgorguina. The walk thus combines its digital features with stories set locally around the dolmen.
