Culture and History

The Església de Sant Agustí stands in the historic centre of Sant Agustí de Lluçanès. The church is located below the Casanova del Francàs. At the same time, it is near the Masia del Grau. The first records of the Església de Sant Agustí date from 905.

The Santuari de la Mare de Déu dels Munts has a portal. It is made of dressed stone. Its lintel is dated 1700. The present church of the Santuari de la Mare de Déu dels Munts was built in 1695.

The annual Aplec del Santuari dels Munts takes place on Easter Monday. The Fira de l’Hostal del Vilar takes place every year on 28 September. Both dates belong to the annual events associated with the places mentioned.

Along the main road in L’Alou, the town preserves rural Baroque architecture. The course of this main road is shaped by the former transhumance route. The historic route connection therefore remains recognisable in the road layout described for L’Alou.
