The Pont Vell is the oldest of the bridges currently spanning the Llobregat and dates back to the 14th century.

Culture

A route with information panels runs through the historic centre of La Pobla de Lillet and connects, among other places, the Font d’en Güell, the Pont Vell, Plaça de l’Ajuntament, the mural depicting the Carta de Poblament, Plaça del Molí, el Verger, Carrer Església, Plaça del Fort, the castle and the church.

On Pujolet hill, the historic centre features narrow, paved streets.

The Església Parroquial houses the Crist Majestat, a Romanesque polychrome wooden carving from the 12th century, as well as the two-metre-high sculpture group Assumpció de la Verge by Frederic Marès.

In the area around La Pobla de Lillet stands the well-preserved Rotonda de Sant Miquel, a round church with a semicircular apse and one of the few buildings of its kind.

Nature

In the area around La Pobla de Lillet lies the Santuari de Falgars at an altitude of 1,288 metres. It is accessible via a paved road and is seven kilometres from La Pobla de Lillet.

For centuries, the Santuari de Falgars has been a pilgrimage site for the inhabitants and neighbours of the region, as well as for people from further afield.

In the area around La Pobla de Lillet, the Xalet del Catllaràs was designed by Antoni Gaudí in 1902; it is located in the forests of the Serra del Catllaràs.

The Xalet del Catllaràs can currently only be viewed from the outside, as the interior is being restored.

Trails

The Xarxa de Camins trail network currently comprises four marked routes with a low level of difficulty.

Each route in the Xarxa de Camins includes information about the sights, as well as downloadable links to the routes on Wikiloc.

The Ruta de les Fonts includes the Font del Güell next to the Pont Vell, surrounded by linden trees.

The Camí de les Sequoies begins at Plaça de l’Ajuntament and follows marked paths towards the Ventaiola forest.

The Font del Roure is located along this trail and is considered a point of interest where the route recommends taking a drinking break.

The destination of the Camí de les Sequoies is the sequoia trees, located 200 metres from Ventaiola House.

Visitor information

Two free car parks are available to customers at the Tren del Ciment station.

The Tren del Ciment was a historic railway line that connected the former Asland cement factory in Castellar de n’Hug with Guardiola de Berguedà. Today, the Tren del Ciment runs for 3.5 kilometres and stops at four stations.

The exhibition “Ferrocarrils secundaris, industrials i turístics a la vall del Llobregat” can be visited at the former railway station of La Pobla de Lillet.

The La Pobla de Lillet tourist office is located at the railway station and sells admission tickets for the Jardins Artigas and the Tren del Ciment. To view the interiors of both buildings, visitors must collect the keys from the La Pobla de Lillet tourist office at the Tren del Ciment station.

The Jardins Artigas originated from a garden design by Antoni Gaudí for the Artigas family, after they had offered him hospitality.

The visitor route through the Jardins Artigas includes a waterfall, an artificial cave with catenary arches, springs, two stone bridges, a square and the Glorieta viewpoint.
