Premià de Mar has 2.5 kilometres of coastline with five beaches: Platja de Llevant, Platja de Bellamar, Pla de l'Os, Platja de la Descàrrega and Platja de Ponent.

Coast and Activities

Platja de Llevant, Platja de Bellamar and a section of Platja Pla de l’Òs are supervised.

Platja de Llevant has beach sports facilities for beach volleyball and beach football.

Marina Port Premià is a quiet, safe and easy-to-manoeuvre harbour with services for a pleasant stay and professional operators.

The route from El Masnou to Premià de Mar runs along the seafront promenade and offers Mediterranean views as well as cycle paths completely separated from road traffic.

Cercleaventura-Premia offers sports and leisure activities in nature all year round, either at sea or in the mountains.

The Club de Rem de Premià practises fixed-seat rowing, including in the Catalan llagut and the batel; those interested can try rowing there free of charge.

The Ruta de les masies leads to farmhouses and manor houses that form part of the landscape of Premià de Mar.

Culture and History

The Museu de l’Estampació is the only museum in Spain specialising in textile printing and offers a permanent exhibition on textile printing, temporary exhibitions, guided tours, printing demonstrations and workshops.

The museum is equipped for accessibility and has ramps and lifts, as well as tactile modules, Braille dossiers and raised-relief images.

The history of the Església de Sant Cristòfol dates back to 1798, when the seafarers’ guild laid its foundation stone; its Baroque portal features maritime and costumbrista motifs.

Can Manent is the oldest fully preserved building in Premià de Mar. The Casa de la Festa de Can Manent preserves all the figures from the Premià de Mar festival parade.

Can Ferrerons is the only Roman building currently known in Catalonia with an octagonal floor plan and is in an excellent state of preservation.

The Museu Romà offers an immersive audiovisual experience in which the visit is accompanied by an audio guide.

The Museu Romà is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility; facilities include ramps, lifts and a scale model for blind visitors.

Festivals and Programmes

The Festa Major de Sant Cristòfol combines a traditional local programme with numerous events involving the local population and supported by Pirates i Premianencs.

The Festa Major d’Hivern was revived in 2006 and is associated with Carnival, traditional dances and satirical events.

Rebombori is a recurring festival of the popular and traditional culture of Premià de Mar, lasts three days and includes activities for all age groups.

ArTardor is an annual visual arts competition in Premià de Mar with categories for photography, painting, drawing and sculpture.

Som-hi! Caps de setmana per descobrir is a weekend programme for families with leisure, cultural and educational activities at various facilities in Premià de Mar.

During the Festa Major, an invasion of pirates on the beaches is staged as a special performance around 10 July.

Premià de Circ was held in Premià de Mar as a festival of circus and performing arts for its third edition.

Market and Transport

Premià de Mar has had a municipal market, the Mercat de Sant Joan, since 1968.

Public transport includes a regular bus route with a night service to Barcelona, a local bus route, a taxi service and a RENFE commuter railway station.
