Culture and History

Castell de Jorba is a medieval Romanesque fortress. As a historic monument, it has been designated as BCIN, an Asset of National Cultural Interest.

Castell de Jorba stands on Puig de la Guàrdia at an altitude of around 500 metres. It offers a viewpoint over the Òdena Basin.

The Església de Sant Pere was built between 1551 and 1558. It is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

The Església de Sant Pere is a Late Gothic church. Its design is simple and imposing.

The Romanesque hermitage of Mare de Déu de la Sala is also known as Santa Maria de la Sala. It is located in the southeast of the municipality of Jorba.

The small chapel of Sant Sebastià i Sant Roc is located at Plaça de la Font. It dates from the 17th century.

Inside Sant Sebastià i Sant Roc, medieval heritage elements from Jorba are on display. These include a castle capital, a sarcophagus and a baptismal font.

The buildings therefore range from the medieval Romanesque fortress and hermitage to the Late Gothic church and the 17th-century chapel.

Landscape and Views

The Mirador de Sant Salvador is also known as Bandera de Jorba. It is located on a 571-metre-high hill.

The Mirador de Sant Salvador offers views over the entire Òdena Basin. From Jorba, the viewpoint can be reached via a forest track that is accessible to everyone.

Trails and Nature

The Via Blava Anoia is a 19-kilometre-long route along the Anoia River. It runs from Jorba to La Pobla de Claramunt.

The Via Blava Anoia is suitable for pedestrians, cyclists and families, thereby connecting different forms of travel along its riverside route.

The “La Natura a Jorba” play trail is a family-friendly circular route to the Romanesque Mare de Déu de la Sala. A puzzle game helps participants discover the local wildlife.

The “La diplomàcia al Castell de Jorba” play trail uses games and QR codes. In this way, it explores the history of the Barony of Jorba and its heritage managed by Guerau and Saurina de Jorba.

Festivals and Events

The Festa de Sant Isidre is a recurring festival in Jorba. It includes a traditional walk to the Bandera.

The Festa Major 2026 in Jorba combines traditional programme items with folk culture, music, sport, gastronomy and family activities.
