On Plaza de Santiago stands the Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol, a three-nave Renaissance church with a Latin cross floor plan. Its sacristy houses a museum and the Camarín of the Virgen del Rosario.
Culture
The Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel is also a three-nave Renaissance church; it was built in the 16th century. The Arco de la Villa is the only surviving remnant of the former town walls and is considered the gate of the former fortified complex. The Casas Cueva line the slopes of Santa Cruz de la Zarza: traditional cave houses, some of which are still inhabited.
The Casa-Museo «Joaquín Arias» is located in a three-storey house that preserves original rooms and areas showcasing vernacular architecture. The Casa del Gallo is a 17th-century house with a Baroque façade and a tower topped by a weather vane in the shape of a rooster. The Casa de Chacón is one of the Churrigueresque houses on Calle Chacón.
El Encaño is an underground water conduit from the 16th century that runs beneath Calle de la Zanja and reaches the Fuente de los Caños. The Fuente de los Caños is a traditional waterworks structure with spouts and washing areas. The Casa de las Cadenas was formerly an inn or tavern with the right of asylum. This house features elaborate ironwork, as well as the emblem of the Order of the Golden Fleece and the year 1626.
The Fiestas in honour of Cristo de la Viga take place in September with processions, religious events and traditional activities, attracting numerous visitors. The Stations of the Cross on Good Friday follows the stone crosses erected along the path to the rock chapel and ends at this chapel.
Nature
El Charco Negro is a gorge with small rocky outcrops and a waterfall approximately 4 metres high. El Cambrón is located about 4 kilometres from the town centre; the Arroyo del Cambrón and the Cañada Real Soriana run through the area, which is also crossed by an old Roman bridge.
