Noreña: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
A historic route of the Camino de Santiago runs through Noreña and has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. The route through Noreña was used by pilgrims travelling to Santiago in the late Middle Ages and at the beginning of the Early Modern period. The section runs between Ferrera and the Palacio de Miraflores before entering the built-up area of the Villa de Noreña.

Culture
The Church of Santa María de Noreña stands above an older Romanesque church. Its exterior is influenced by the Renaissance. Casa de Pedro Alonso was built at the beginning of the 20th century as an eclectic Indian-style house; its garden contains Asturian and American trees.
Since 3 June 2008, the ground floor of the former water reservoir has housed the municipal exhibition hall. The Quiosco de la Música was designed by Juan Miguel de la Guardia and built by Arturo Bertrand on the Paseo de Fray Ramón. The bandstand has an octagonal structure made of iron and wood, a dome covered with zinc shingles and a needle-shaped finial.
History
The Palacio del Rebollín is an Asturian palace whose construction extended over several building phases between the 16th and 18th centuries. The Palacio de Miraflores dates from the late 16th century and features a Neoclassical design influenced by Herrerian architecture, arranged around a courtyard surrounded by arcades.
Álvaro Flórez Estrada, who lived from 1776 to 1853, spent his final years at the Palacio de Miraflores and died there. The Torre del Reloj dates from the last quarter of the 17th century. It formerly served as a local prison, a public clock and a place from which residents were summoned to meetings.
Casa de Ramón Pérez de Ayala is the house in Noreña where the Asturian writer and journalist spent his summers; it was built in 1874.
Food and Festivals
Fábrica La Luz is a significant industrial building dating from 1913 and was the first building in Noreña to use modern machinery for sausage production. Fábrica La Luz is considered the first factory in the world to can Asturian fabada.
Monumento al Gochu is a life-size bronze sculpture erected in 2001 as a tribute to the animal that provides the raw materials for Noreña's important sausage industry. Fiesta del Picadillo y el Sabadiego takes place every spring and has been declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Principality of Asturias.
Picadillo and sabadiego are the central dishes of this spring celebration in Noreña. Sabadiego is a sausage made from blood, lean meat and onions; Noreña is considered its traditional stronghold.
Nature
The River Noreña flows into the River Nora, which is a tributary of the Nalón.
The beaches of Playa de Poniente, Playa Los Mayanes and Playa Cervigón are located in the wider regional area around Noreña.

Palacio de Valdesoto is a palace in the area around Noreña. Also located nearby are Museo Asturias Si Yo Pudiera, Museo de la Siderurgia, Museo Arqueológico de Asturias and Núcleo Zoológico El Bosque zoo.
Noreña's road connections include the N-634 national road towards Oviedo and Santander, exit 19 of the AS-I Autovía Minera and exit 22 of the A-64 motorway.
