San Roque del Acebal is the starting and ending point of the Senda del Valle Invisible, a 12-kilometre circular route. The Senda begins and ends at the San Roque del Acebal petrol station.
Nature
The Senda features wood and stone carvings. Las Santacinas is a wooded area with numerous natural holly trees. The Senda follows the Riega del Toyu to a waterfall. Another carving can be found at the upper entrance to the Cueva de Collubina.
The viewpoints and designed elements give the circular route different thematic accents: at Las Santacinas, the focus is on the forest and natural holly trees, while the Riega del Toyu leads to a waterfall. At the Cueva de Collubina, another carving adds to the sequence of features along the route. The 12 kilometres of the circular route provide the spatial framework for these different stops.
Culture
The Senda del Valle Invisible passes through San Roque del Acebal along the Camino de Santiago. On Stage 2 of the Camino de Santiago from Vidiago to Poo, the route passes through San Roque del Acebal along the N-634 to El Cornellar and then returns to the traditional route towards La Jorcada.
The Senda leads to the remains of the Malatería de San Lázaro. The remains of up to seven mills can be found at the Riega de los Molinos. The Humilladero, or Capilla de las Ánimas, was a place where pilgrims left alms for sick people.
The parish church Iglesia parroquial de San Roque del Acebal has three naves and a single apse. It also has a stone bell gable with three openings, crowned by a cross.
