La Ginebrosa features a medieval townscape characterized by arches and passageways. The remains of Castillo de Buñol originate from a Muslim castle on a hill. Castillo de Buñol is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural.

Culture

At the southeastern edge of the town stands the parish church of San Bartolomé, a Gothic religious building that was remodelled during the Baroque period. In the area of the apse, in the first nave bay nearest the apse arch and in two adjoining side chapels, the church preserves Gothic elements from the 14th or 15th century. The 17th-century extension of San Bartolomé includes the façade and the robust bell tower.

The Nevera de La Ginebrosa is one of the buildings associated with ice culture recognized in Aragón as Bienes de Interés Cultural. The communal ice cellar complex of La Ginebrosa is part of the Ruta de las Bóvedas del Frío and is located near the town centre. Of the five former gates in La Ginebrosa’s town wall, only one remains at the southeastern edge of the town.

Trails

The Sendero de las Simas de La Ginebrosa is a long circular trail that can be completed in full or in sections. It leads from La Ginebrosa over the ridges of the local Sierra to the Sima Grande. Along the full route, the trail continues from the Sima Grande to the Sima Pequeña; there is also a signposted detour to Los Fontanales. The themed Ruta de las Bóvedas del Frío is approximately 127 kilometres long and includes La Ginebrosa. The restored Puente de Cananillas is set in beautiful natural surroundings.

When choosing a route, length, circular format and the division into the main route and detours can serve as different points of comparison.
