Gerbe between Nature, Church Art and Tower Houses
Gerbe is located on a river terrace that connects various habitats: the area shaped by the Mediano Reservoir, reforested pine forests, fields and the nearby high mountains.
Other places in the overview are Colungo, Torrente, Boltaña, Villanúa, Perarrúa, Lasaosa, Viacamp Y Litera and Anciles.
Nature
The Sendero Ornitológico de Gerbe partly follows an old path used by the inhabitants of Gerbe. Along the route, signs made from recycled materials provide information about the birds and orchids visible there.
Depending on the season, migrating cranes can be observed on the Sendero; the song of the golden oriole can also be heard, likewise depending on the season. The route is considered accessible to all target groups, is approximately 4.5 kilometres long and has an elevation difference of 10 metres.
Birdwatching on the Sendero Ornitológico de Gerbe ends at the Hide Birding Sobrarbe, where visitors can observe birds feeding in the surrounding area. Birdwatching also includes a visit with a specialised guide.
The route length and elevation difference provide two separate figures for planning your own day. You can consider the information on species, seasons and accompaniment independently when planning your days in nature.
