Beltinci Castle houses the permanent exhibition “The History of Healthcare in Pomurje”. In the park in front of the castle, an exhibition of historic bicycles explores the development of the bicycle. The castle also contains a tourist information office. The exhibition “Noble Families at Beltinci Castle” includes a countess’s salon.

The Church of St Ladislaus in Beltinci was built in 1742 and combines Baroque and Neo-Baroque architecture. It was remodelled by Max von Ferstl in the 1890s. The side chapel added in 1894 is named Ave Maria; the crypt of the Zichy family is located beneath this chapel. On the south side of the church, Count Zichy had a Venetian fountain built between 1890 and 1894.

Crafts and regional traditions

The “Slavicova kovačija” forge dates from the early 20th century. With the exception of the entrance door, its original furnishings, hearth with bellows and associated blacksmithing tools have been preserved.

A folklore group was founded in Beltinci in 1938. It mainly performs dances from the Prekmurje region and continues to maintain wedding and harvest customs.

Events

Markovo senje is a traditional event in Beltinci. Its origins are traced back to the market rights granted in 1817. In 2019, the nearly abandoned tradition was revived and held in the centre of Beltinci on St Mark’s Day.
