Moravske Toplice: Holiday Apartments between Thermal Spas, Nature and Culture

Things to do in Moravske Toplice include thermal spa experiences, hiking and recreational trails, as well as culture. The outdoor pool area at Terme Vivat includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, a pool with black thermal water and a children’s pool. There is also an 800 m² wellness centre offering massages and beauty rituals based on local elements from Prekmurje. Terme Vivat’s music fountain is a special attraction: guests can choose music and step into the fountain between drops of thermal water.

Thermal Spas and Golf

The black pools at the Terme 3000 Thermal Park have indoor and outdoor areas and are open year-round. The Terme 3000 spa is known for its dark thermal mineral water and includes a water adventure park and wellness facilities.

Livada Golf Course is located next to the Moravske Toplice thermal spa. It is suitable for both beginners and experienced golfers, covers more than 50 hectares and offers 18 playing fields. Livada also has the longest hole in Slovenia.

Nature and Trails

The municipal area of Moravske Toplice Municipality is part of Goričko Nature Park, a protected area within the Natura 2000 network. Almost 100 kilometres of hiking and recreational trails are available in Moravske Toplice; the individual trails range from 1.8 to 20 kilometres in length.

In the surrounding area, the Lončarovci Marsh Trail leads for 50 metres across a marshy meadow to a platform on the Curek stream. The Butterfly Trail also runs through the surrounding area, passing through wetlands where rare and endangered butterfly species occur. Guided tours of this trail are available only by prior registration.

Culture and History

In the surrounding area of Moravske Toplice, the Filovci Open-Air Museum combines traditional pottery, the architecture of original Pannonian houses and the cultural heritage of Filovci pottery. The Bojnec pottery workshop operates at the open-air museum and continues the local pottery tradition.

The Church of Bogojina, designed by architect Jože Plečnik and built between 1924 and 1927, is also located in the surrounding area. In Selo, the Romanesque rotunda preserves two layers of wall paintings. Guided tours of the Romanesque rotunda in Selo are conducted by the Selo branch of TIC Moravske Toplice.

The Evangelical Church of the Good Shepherd Jesus stands in the centre of Moravske Toplice. The park of the Reformed Region of Prekmurje is located in front of the church.

Market, Wine and Local Life

The Moravske Toplice Tourist Information Centre is located in the town centre and is available all year round. Trekking bikes, children’s bicycles, electric bicycles and e-scooters are rented there. TIC Moravske Toplice also organises the traditional summer tourist market in Moravske Toplice.

A tourist train offers a 30-minute panoramic ride in Moravske Toplice and its surroundings. In the surrounding area, participants in the “Adopt-a-vine” programme receive a bottle of wine from their own vine during the annual grape harvest.
