Holiday apartment in Babiči: Church ruins and cycling routes

Above Babiči, you can see the ruins of a church dedicated to Saint John, or Ivan, dating from the 15th century. A Gothic triumphal arch with Gothic architectural elements has been preserved among the church ruins. The nave of the church was remodelled in the 17th century.

The date of the house, its present-day use as a stable and the function of the outbuilding each give the individual buildings their own historical and practical context.

Cycling routes

The challenging 38-kilometre cycling route “Kdor išče, ta najde (K15)” passes through Babiči. It runs from Vanganel via Babiči towards Pomjan. Along this route, there are views of the Poljanska buža, Supot Waterfall and several old mills. The route description therefore names not only the place and its direction, but also specific destinations and landscape features along the way.

The “Sui sentieri della Toscana Istriana” cycling route also passes through the area, following a circular course from Marezige via Babiči and onwards towards Župančiči. The route is suitable for MTB, EMTB and gravel bikes.
