The “Kúpele Nimnica–Malý Javorník” cycle route starts at the “Nimnica, kúpele” signpost near Kúpele Nimnica. It follows the red-marked Váh Cycling Route along the reservoir and past the harbour. At the next junction on the cycle route, there is a hikers' shelter, several rest areas, an outdoor fitness area and a drinking-water spring.

The presence of a brown bear was reported in the cadastral area of Nimnica; increased caution is particularly advised in the mornings and evenings in forested and adjacent areas.

History and church

The area of today's municipality of Nimnica was home to a settlement from the La Tène period as well as a Roman-era settlement of the Púchov culture. The Church of Our Lady of Fatima (“Kostol Fatimskej Panny Márie”) is a filial church in Nimnica.
