Geographical setting

Tomášov is located in the Podunajská nížina lowland, in the western part of Žitný ostrov, on the alluvial ridge of the Malý Dunaj. Culture and history

The parish church of “Kostol svätého Mikuláša” in Tomášov is a single-nave church with a semicircular chancel and a rectangular bell tower. Its furnishings include an eight-stop organ with one manual and pedals dating from 1864. In addition to the present-day church of “Kostol svätého Mikuláša”, there are two Romanesque baptismal fonts. Tomášov is also home to the neo-Gothic chapel “Kaplnka sv. Kríža”, which was built at the end of the 19th century. A restored wayside cross is considered an important local monument and is connected with the presentation of Tomášov’s past. Nature

Art Hotel Kaštieľ was built between 1766 and 1769 by Baron Ján Jesenák as an aristocratic country estate in the style of Austrian Classicist Baroque. Art Hotel Kaštieľ includes a 17-hectare English park. Since 2012, a herd of fallow deer has lived in the English park of Art Hotel Kaštieľ, while information boards there explain the rare tree species. The visitor attractions also include an adventure golf course. In good weather, it is open daily; admission is available at the Kaštieľ reception.
