Holiday apartment in Tŕnie – Gothic church and Padalo Waterfall

Tŕnie lies in the Turovské predhorie subregion of the Kremnické vrchy. At its northern edge, a gorge opens up, containing Padalo Waterfall. The waterfall is approximately 12 metres high and lies on an andesite bedrock base. Here, a clearly defined mountain area, a striking gorge, and a natural feature with its own geological character come together.

Culture

In the northwest of Tŕnie, St. Martin’s Church stands on a slight elevation. The Gothic church is in good condition and serves its religious purpose. On the southern side of the old nave, it has a richly moulded Gothic portal; a Gothic cross-ribbed vault has been preserved in the sacristy. Thus, a single building displays both the external architectural language of the Gothic style and a preserved interior detail.

The cultural heritage of Tŕnie also includes the Chapel of St. Vendelin. In Kašová Lehôtka, the wooden bell tower has two bells, including one from 1667. The wooden bell tower in the Hrabiny district is an immovable cultural monument. Also in Kašová Lehôtka is a farmhouse with an outbuilding, originally a three-room building, which is used for recreational purposes. The Trňan folklore group was founded in 1971. The oldest document relating to Tŕnie is a charter issued by King Ladislaus IV in 1285.

Nature

From the Piesky ridge, views extend westwards across almost the entire cadastral area of Železná Breznica. To the east, they stretch across the territory of Tŕnie and Turová and onwards to Zvolen, Sliač, and other places. A small cave in Farský jarok served as a refuge for local residents during the period of early settlement. The landscape thus combines open long-distance views with a specific site that is also connected with early settlement.

Routes

The access route through the gorge to Padalo Waterfall includes chains installed at difficult-to-pass sections for holding on to. A marked path through the forest leads to a point above Padalo Waterfall. The two route descriptions remain clearly distinct: one access route leads through the gorge and mentions the chains installed there, while the other is designated as a marked forest path leading to above the waterfall.

The included services, individual price components, and booking and cancellation conditions can likewise be compared in advance. The assessment therefore remains limited to the specific features stated for the respective offer. The sights, landscapes, and routes of the place are separate from this: they describe Tŕnie but make no statement about any individual holiday apartment. Before booking, these offer details can be compared with your own requirements.
