History

The early history of Čekovce is connected with the provostry of Bzovík. Hemp cultivation was one of the historical sources of livelihood in Čekovce. In earlier times, the men of the village also practised woodcarving. The village's history thus encompasses both agriculturally oriented activities and skilled craftwork.

Čekovce is associated with the palaeontologist Jozef V. Luňaček, who was born here in 1844. While teaching in Krnišov, he began taking an interest in geological research. His biography adds a connection to the history of science to the visible heritage of the village.

Cycling

A cycling route from Krupina leads via Bzovík to Čekovce. The cycling route to Čekovce runs along roads, asphalt surfaces, and field and forest paths and is suitable for MTB and trekking bikes.
