Culture

During the Magdalenenkirmes fair, Schoden maintains the Kirmeskloos tradition: unmarried young men carry a straw figure through the village and sing the Kirmeskloos song. The Catholic Church of St. Paul and St. Mary Magdalene is also part of the village's history. It is a Classicist hall church dating from 1842 with a Romanesque eastern tower.

Activities

The Multi-Kulti Fun Beach is located on the banks of the Saar, a recreational facility in Schoden offering canoe rental. A 90-minute kayaking course starts at the canoe centre in Schoden. The course begins with a brief theoretical introduction; life jackets, paddles and dry bags are provided. The Multi-Kulti Fun Beach also offers a large sun terrace directly on the Saar Cycle Route, as well as homemade cake or ice cream.

Nature

The Wiltingen Saar Bend provides a habitat for kingfishers, cormorants, dragonflies and beavers. A canoe trip leads through a particularly natural section of the Saar in the Wiltingen Saar Bend.
