Thörnich has the Thörnicher Ritsch via ferrata, an approximately 1.4-kilometre-long route through the vineyards to a viewpoint above the Moselle Valley. The route includes steep, rocky sections and requires sure-footedness and sturdy footwear.
The viewpoint at the Thörnicher Ritsch offers views across the Moselle Valley from Leiwen via Thörnich to Pölich. Above the main rest area, there is a shelter and additional resting places.
The Moselle Cycle Route follows the Moselle loop directly past Thörnich. Longer or shorter cycling tours upstream or downstream along the Moselle are possible on it; the surrounding area is described as a region with a well-developed network of cycle paths.
