Freudenburg: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Freudenburg castle ruins are a Gothic heritage site on a rocky ridge. Parts of the gate, a 16-metre-wide and 51-metre-long neck ditch, a three-storey stone building, a palas and the remains of a round keep have been preserved. The Eiderberg nature reserve is located near Freudenburg, covers 34 hectares and lies within the FFH area of the Serriger Bachtal and Leuk and Saar. It is described as one of the orchid-richest areas in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Alterberg, Maunert and Pellenberg are also located near Freudenburg. The municipality of Freudenburg presents the Saar Loop, with its treetop path, as being five kilometres away. The path runs for 1,250 metres and ends at a 42-metre-high observation tower.

The Kollesleuker Schweiz and the Leukbachtal are located in Freudenburg's district of Kollesleuken. There are opportunities for hiking through Bunter sandstone formations and for mountain biking along old mills and a narrow stream valley.
