Culture and History

The Catholic parish church of St. Mary, Queen of the Rosary, is a listed building with a medieval tower and a Baroque nave, constructed in 1753/54 based on a preliminary design by Balthasar Neumann. Neumann drew up a plan for the parish church in 1753; the choir was built in 1767/68, and the medieval tower was given a new roof in 1774.

The nearby Geisfeld-Abtei war memorial commemorates fallen soldiers who were involved in an aerial battle on January 29, 1944.

Nature and Hiking

The landscape surrounding Geisfeld is characterized by forests and meadows. Geisfeld lies on the edge of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park. Cycling

The Wald-Wiesen-Wacken Route is described as suitable for e-bikes. It is 45 kilometers long and uses paved natural paths, some of which are gravel-surfaced. A 20.8-kilometer section runs through Geisfeld, Beuren, Pölert, and Rascheid.

Further along, the Wald-Wiesen-Wacken Route leads through the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park and through small Hunsrück-Hochwald settlements with places to stop for a break and refreshments.
