Faid: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Faid is a starting point for hikes into the Moselle Valley through the Wild-Endert Valley.

Culture

The parish church of St. Stephen in Faid was built in 1750 and is dedicated to Saint Stephen. The Church of St. Stephen is recorded as being open all day from Monday to Sunday.

There are eight grave crosses from the 17th and 18th centuries in Faid. Faid’s cemetery also contains a sandstone cemetery cross dating from 1847. A documented foundation for an early mass was established in Faid in 1470.

The historic buildings include a timber-framed transverse house at Dorfstraße 21 dating from 1750. A second listed transverse house at Stiergass 1 is a plastered timber-framed building from the 18th or 19th century. Faid was elevated to a parish in 1798.

Hiking and Nature

The hike through the Wild-Endert Valley follows rocky paths and several footbridges and partly passes mills that have been resettled.

Faid has a signposted network of woodland and hiking trails with benches for relaxing in nature. The panoramas from the surrounding heights include the old Bohnert Kumb washing place and the Endert Valley.

Region

In the Cochem Holiday Region, Faid is one of the municipalities served by its network of tourist information offices. The Cochem Holiday Region supports cycling along the river, hikes on vineyard trails and boat trips through the Moselle landscape.
