Greimersburg is closely connected with the Endert and its landscape. The Endert Mill Trail is a 10.7 km circular trail in Greimersburg that begins and ends at the “Oose Laden” village shop. The trail includes the Zickelslei viewpoint and views into the deeply incised, largely unspoilt Endert Valley. Sturdy footwear is recommended.

The Endert Valley is described as a wild and romantic side valley of the Moselle. The Tal der wilden Endert adventure trail follows the stream through a landscape associated with historic mills.

Culture and History

South of Greimersburg, a prehistoric fortification has been preserved near Burglay. Its earthwork consists of a slate rubble wall and a ditch. The fortification is probably connected with the later Hunsrück-Eifel culture, which is generally dated to approximately 600 to 250 BC.

Greimersburg’s documented history of mills includes the fact that in 1663 the inhabitants jointly operated three mills on the Endertbach. Several other mills are also recorded for the 18th and 19th centuries.
