Culture

The Romanesque St. Martin's Church in Klein-Bockenheim contains a baptismal font with four lions and Gothic wall paintings. The Catholic parish church of St. Lambertus preserves a Madonna of the Grapes dating from 1480.

The medieval tower of the Protestant Lambert's Church dates from the 11th century. From 1700 to 1921, the Lambert's Church was used by Protestant and Catholic congregations. Every year, Bockenheim hosts the dialect days and a dialect poetry competition.

Trails and Routes

Bockenheim is a meeting point for the Wine Route Cycle Path, the Kraut & Rüben Cycle Route and the Barbarossa Cycle Path. The Wine Hiking Trail begins in Bockenheim and follows the German Wine Route to Schweigen in the southern Palatinate. The German Wine Route Hiking Trail runs from Bockenheim to Schweigen-Rechtenbach for approximately 100 kilometers. It is marked throughout with a green grape symbol on a white background.

Orientation

The 9-kilometer Sänger Hiking Trail begins and ends at the House of the German Wine Route in Bockenheim. A Wine Route marathon starts there every two years; parking is also available there. Connections to train and bus stops enable individual stage planning for the German Wine Route Hiking Trail.
