Nieder-Wiesen: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nieder-Wiesen is situated in a basin at the confluence of the Dembach and Wiesbach rivers and is part of the Rheinhessische Schweiz recreational area, with forests and signposted hiking trails. Nature

The Kneipp-Napoleon hiking trail branches off in Nieder-Wiesen towards Oberwiesen, to Forsthaus Vorholz via Bechenheim, and via Teufelsrutsch towards Wendelsheim. According to the description, a Kneipp arm bath at its junction in Nieder-Wiesen provides refreshment; an adjacent information board explains its correct use according to Sebastian Kneipp.

A wooden footbridge next to the ford allows pedestrians to cross the Wiesbach without getting their feet wet. Nieder-Wiesen also has a paved, passable ford across the Wiesbach.

Hiwweltour Vorholz is part of the certified circular hiking trail network in Rheinhessen, and its route leads as far as Nieder-Wiesen.

Culture

The Protestant church in Nieder-Wiesen houses the oldest Stumm organ in the area of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau; it dates from around 1725. At the same time, the Nieder-Wiesen organ is the smallest Stumm organ in Rheinhessen.

About 400 metres outside Nieder-Wiesen lies a Jewish cemetery with a well-maintained section containing 44 gravestones dating from 1869 onwards, as well as an older section in the forest with approximately 35 graves from the 19th century.

The Nieder-Wiesen equestrian facility at Hunolstein Moated Castle includes an indoor riding arena, an outdoor riding arena, paddocks and horse stalls. Hunolstein Moated Castle is described as a Baroque moated castle dating from 1724.

Leisure

Nieder-Wiesen's meeting place has a public barbecue area and a boules court. It also features a football pitch, a table tennis table and a beach volleyball court.

Children can use a water playground and several play facilities at the meeting place.

The Alzeyer Land region is promoted for exploration by bicycle, e-bike or on foot.
