Lind: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Lind lies in the western Ahr Hills. When hiking, views extend into the Volcanic Eifel, the Siebengebirge and as far as the Hohe Acht. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Lind can then continue searching for accommodation.

Landscape

Lind is home to the Linder Höhe, a 488-metre-high panoramic plateau. In the municipality of Lind, four signposted circular hiking trails cover a combined 35 kilometres; around 20 hiking trails are signposted in total.

Hiking trails

The AhrSteig is a long-distance hiking trail with seven stages. It connects the source of the Ahr near Blankenheim with the river’s mouth near Sinzig and follows natural trails through valleys, uplands, vineyards and forests in the Ahr region. Stage 4 is marked in both directions with the blue AhrSteig hiking symbol. The Linder Höhe is a waypoint on this stage, and a section of the AhrSteig runs along the Panorama Trail.

The Lind Panorama Trail is 6.5 kilometres long, takes about two hours, is considered easy and has 171 metres of elevation gain and loss. It is marked with a linden tree symbol and provides information about the weather. The Dreidörfer nature trails around Lind include a 16-kilometre circular trail. The nativity scene chapel is described as a highlight directly along the hiking trail.

Culture and history

Lind’s first recorded mention appears in the Prümer Urbar, which is dated to 893. The Catholic parish church of St Notburgis has a tower with a probably medieval core and a Baroque cupola; the Neo-Gothic nave was built in 1906. The church grounds also contain two 18th-century grave crosses and a fragment of a cross.

In Lind-Obliers, the ruins of Wensburg are listed as a protected monument zone. They include medieval remains of a curtain wall and a zwinger wall, as well as a keep with a tent roof.
