Ahrbrück combines a heavily wooded setting with trails, cycling opportunities, religious history and a unique railway connection.

Forest Trails and the Ahr Cycle Route for Active Days

The Eifel Club's maps currently show seven trails within the municipality of Ahrbrück. In addition, there are three hiking huts in the heavily wooded area around Ahrbrück.

The Ahr Cycle Route leads into the upper Ahr Valley, passing the Marien Pilgrimage Chapel in Pützfeld on the way to Ahrbrück. Because of its quiet setting, it is also used by hikers and walkers. The route can be followed as far as the source of the Ahr or along the vineyards of the Ahr Valley. This offers different ideas for a day of holiday: you can plan a bike ride or use the route for a walk. If you are travelling with children of different ages, you can tailor the day's activities to their individual interests without having to set one particular route for everyone equally.

Pilgrimage and Local History

The Marien Chapel in Ahrbrück-Pützfeld is a pilgrimage site dedicated to the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus. The Marien Pilgrimage Chapel in Pützfeld was founded through a private donation by Werner Dietrich Freiherr von Friemersdorf zu Pützfeld and his wife Maria Magdalena Scheiffardt von Merode zu Allner. For visitors wishing to combine experiences of nature with culture and religious history, this site offers a distinct focal point in Ahrbrück.

The history of the village has also been included in a guided programme: on 9 August 2025, the Kulturverein Mittelahr e.V., together with ABK54 Ahrbrück e.V., conducted a guided tour of the municipality of Ahrbrück for the seventh time. The date refers to a past event and therefore does not indicate a future date. However, it shows that, alongside trails and landscapes, the history of the municipality has also been taken up as a subject for visitors.

On the Bat Trail near Hönningen, there is a meadow path with views of Hönningen and the bright yellow Katharinen Chapel in Ahrbrück. For your travel planning, it is important to note that on 2 October 2025 it was announced that the Katharinen Chapel would remain permanently closed until further notice. The view of the building can nevertheless be considered a scenic landmark along the described meadow path; this should not be taken to imply that the chapel can be visited or accessed.

Getting There and Choosing Accommodation

Ahrbrück is the last stop on the Ahr Valley Railway before it returns to the Rhine. The Ahr Valley Railway also takes travellers back to their starting point. These railway connections may be of interest when planning your excursions if you do not want to base your travel plans exclusively on arriving by car.

When looking for accommodation in Ahrbrück, you can therefore first decide which aspects are important for your stay: trails and cycling, the pilgrimage chapel and local history, or the connection provided by the Ahr Valley Railway. Campsites around Ahrbrück offer individual holiday stays.
