Culture

The ruins of the Château de Châtillon-sur-Cluses consist of a tall section of wall and a dilapidated tower. The château was a preferred residence of the lords of Faucigny. Its grounds included a lookout point called « le Cuar », which overlooked the entire Arve Valley.

The Église Saint-Martin originated from the chapel of the Château de Châtillon-sur-Cluses. In 1223, the wedding blessing of Pierre de Savoie, known as the little Charlemagne, and Agnès de Faucigny was celebrated there.

The present-day Chapelle du Mont-Provent was built in 1838. It contains a polychrome wooden statue of the Virgin and Child; the choir of the Chapelle du Mont Provent was added in 1937.

A small ridge path leads to the Chapelle Saint Innocent. It was apparently a fairly frequently visited pilgrimage site and contains an icon painted on the altar wall.
