The municipal Nordic ski area of La Chapelle-d'Abondance is located along the Dranse. Along the Dranse, there are 23 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails, ranging from green to black runs. The area also includes sections for beginners, ski orienteering and biathlon.

The La Panthiaz/Braitaz ski sector has an elevation difference of 800 metres through the fir trees. The Crêt-Béni ski sector offers green and red pistes for all ability levels.

Nature

The Parc à Daims is located on a slightly wooded, gently sloping municipal area of approximately 4,000 square metres at the edge of the forest. A small path and a footbridge enable visitors to get to know the deer living there.

Culture

The Église Saint-Maurice was built between the 14th and 18th centuries. The present building is a 19th-century reconstruction from the Sardinian period, restored in 2008. The church can be explored with an audio guide and a map.

Culinary delights

In summer, by reservation, the Ferme du Féto offers morning tours of the artisanal production of farm cheese at the Lou M'nias Alpine chalet, followed by a tasting. At the Ferme du Féto, visitors can accompany the herdsman to bring the cows to the chalet and then take part in milking.

Once a week, by reservation, the Ferme du Féto offers a one-hour hike with the herdsman from the farm to the alpine pasture. This is followed by a typical meal and an accompanied return by torchlight.

At the Chèvrerie des Thoules, visitors can milk goats and observe the cheese-making process. The Fruitière de La Chapelle d'Abondance produces Savoyard cheese by traditional methods every day and allows it to mature. During the season, it offers tours of its facilities by reservation.
