Lac de Machilly is a 7-hectare artificial reservoir located within the municipality of Machilly. From Machilly railway station, it can be reached in five minutes on foot via Léman Express line L1 towards Évian-les-Bains.

Currently, fishing is the only activity carried out at Étang de Machilly. The area around Étang de Machilly is suitable for walking and relaxation.

Marais de Grange Vigny plays an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem and serves as a preferred place for interaction and contact between species. Machilly also participates in the Natura 2000 charter for the Massif des Voirons area.

Trails and Views

A PDIPR hiking route begins at Lac de Machilly and leads to the Signal des Voirons. From the summit of the Crête des Voirons at 1,480 metres, there is a panoramic view over the Lake Geneva basin, the Vallée Verte, the Giffre Mountains, the Aravis and Mont Blanc.

Culture and History

The Église St Martin was built in 1455 and previously had several religious names. It has a crypt containing the tomb of the de Langin family, as well as two bells named Packard and Benetti.
