Culture

Corné is home to the Church of Saint Blaise, whose origins date back to the 11th century. It features an elaborately designed Flamboyant Gothic portal dating from around 1450, as well as Late Gothic star vaults that are considered rare in Anjou. On 8 November 1972, the church was added to the supplementary list of France’s historic monuments.

There are also two châteaux in the area around Corné: Pignerolles is a château near Corné, and Echarbot is also a château near Corné. In the wider region around Corné are Le Repaire Urbain, a museum, and the Galerie David d’Angers, also a museum.

The “Entre rivière et forêt” circular trail passes a former retting basin, which is considered evidence of hemp processing in the valley.

Nature

Since 2024, the Marais et Bocage de l’Authion nature reserve has included the Pré des Ilons in Corné and is open to the public. Corné is bordered by woodland on one side and the Authion on the other. The village is located in the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park.

Walks

Corné has a signposted fitness trail that combines walks with sporting activities. The forests north of Corné and the Authion to the south offer opportunities for walks.

The “Entre rivière et forêt” circular trail follows the Authion, passes the bridge of Corné, and then continues along a shaded riverside path with small sluices.
