Bois-Le-Roi: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The 14.1-kilometre “Biodiversity Trail” runs through the entire municipality and provides access to the banks of the Seine, the Forêt des Viarons and the Base de Loisirs. Inaugurated in October 2023, the trail offers opportunities to encounter the local flora and fauna. From Paris Gare de Lyon station, Bois-le-Roi can be reached in around 40 minutes on the Transilien Line R.

Geographical location

The Bois-le-Roi leisure and recreation centre is bordered to the south by the Seine and its towpath, and to the north by the Forest of Fontainebleau. Bois-le-Roi lies north of the Forest of Fontainebleau and borders the Seine to the east.

The surroundings of Bois-le-Roi include the “Caverne des Brigands” cave, the “Mont Ussy” hill, the “Mont Enflammé” hill and the “Mont Aiveu” hill.

Activities

The Île de Loisirs de Bois-le-Roi offers golf, tennis, horse riding and urban sliding. A free shuttle runs between Bois-le-Roi station and the Île de Loisirs, providing access to the water sports centre.

The “Circuit cyclo touristique de Bois-le-Roi” starts at the Scandibérique or the SNCF station and leads visitors on a tour of Bois-le-Roi. A guided bicycle tour starts at Bois-le-Roi station, follows the Seine and leads to the villas known as “les Affolantes”.

Culture

The Église Saint-Pierre de Bois-le-Roi has three naves, pointed-arch arcades, water-leaf capitals from the 13th century and a square bell tower from a transitional period. The Église Saint-Pierre de Bois-le-Roi was almost completely rebuilt around 1840.

The “Palace of Fontainebleau” is located near Bois-le-Roi. Also nearby are the “Château de Fortoiseau” castle, the “Abbaye de Barbeau” historic site and the ruins of “Abbaye Notre-Dame du Lys”.

Other places include Neufmoutiers-En-Brie, Favières, Moissy-Cramayel, Marolles-sur-Seine, Lizy-Sur-Ourcq, Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin, Saint-Mesmes and Sancy-Lès-Meaux.
