Lizy-Sur-Ourcq: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The painting “Tableau Bourgeois” is exhibited in the town hall of Lizy-sur-Ourcq. It is considered the only painting in Île-de-France to document the construction of the “flûtes” of the Ourcq Canal.
Culture and history
The Église Saint-Médard in Lizy-sur-Ourcq belongs to the municipality and has been listed in the French register of historic monuments since 6 July 1942. The present building was erected at the end of the 16th century at the instigation of Charles du Broullat and Antoinette d’Angennes. The church is a rural late-Gothic building with an irregular floor plan and asymmetrical structure, a slender slate tower, and ornamentation combining Renaissance and Gothic elements. Some of the stained-glass windows were designed by Laurent Gsell from Paris.
The municipal cemetery of Lizy-sur-Ourcq is associated with a recognized pilgrimage of Travellers. Another historic site is the Saint-Hubert lock: it dates from 1756 and was built upstream of the Lizy mill weir. The houses in the town centre include historic cellars.
Lizy-sur-Ourcq is served by Transilien line P on the Meaux–La Ferté-Milon route; in Meaux, there is a connection to Paris-Est station.

Cycling and hiking
Véloroute 52, which connects Paris and Strasbourg, passes through Lizy-sur-Ourcq. In addition, the GR® 11 includes a 32.5-kilometre section from Lizy-sur-Ourcq station to La Ferté-sous-Jouarre station.
The Course du Printemps on 24 May 2026 included a 5-kilometre loop around the town centre and the Ourcq Canal; at the finish, rankings and refreshments were available.
