Maison-Rouge lies at the crossroads of the Roman road between Sens and Meaux and the royal road between Paris and Provins.

Geographical Setting
The RD209 and RD619 departmental roads run through Maison-Rouge. Via the Rue du Pavé du Roy and the Rue de la Croix Blanche, the RD619 forms the municipality’s main road. Maison-Rouge was also a stage on the road between Paris and Provins. The village has an electric vehicle charging station at Place du Tilleul.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint Augustine in Maison-Rouge was built from 1855 onwards, and its sacristy was inaugurated in 1889. The building is predominantly constructed of sandstone and features a series of narrow buttresses. The roofs of the nave and side aisles are separate, allowing the high windows to illuminate the nave directly.
The church in Maison-Rouge houses the statue of Saint Martin from Landoy. The polychrome wooden statue of Saint George dates from the 15th century and comes from the former church of Landoy; a recent restoration restored its original polychromy. A painting of Saint Martin also depicts the saint seated as a bishop, while in the background he shares his cloak on horseback.

In the Rue de la Croix Blanche, the royal milestones date from the 17th and 18th centuries. On the royal milestone of Maison-Rouge, the fleur-de-lis faces the house and is therefore not visible from this side. In the Rue du Pavé du Roy, the Brichanteau inscription is a large stone slab set into the façade of a house.
The historic building in Maison-Rouge served as a post station for approximately a century from 1680 onwards. The fortified Petit Mitoy house retains a corner tower and remains of the moat that once surrounded the garden on its older eastern façade. La Tablote school reflects the architectural style used during the Third Republic.
Landscape
The washhouse in Courtevroust has a lean-to roof supported by two central wooden posts with concrete bases. It stands beside a small pond; at the far end is a well with a wheel that has now disappeared and once served to supply water to the pond. Maison-Rouge offers extensive views over the surrounding areas.
