Moissy-Cramayel between a circular trail, arboretum and culture

Moissy-Cramayel combines a 14-kilometre circular walking trail with natural and cultural attractions. Opened in 2023, the trail passes along the Ru des Hauldres, the slopes of the Chanteloup arboretum and the Parc de la Motte. This means that different landscapes and local features are brought together along a fixed route.

Nature and trails

The arboretum in the Parc de l’Arboretum is home to tree species typical of the nearby Forêt de Sénart, as well as exotic species. In the Espace naturel de la Motte, paths have also been developed for cycling. The circular trail, arboretum and cycle paths therefore represent distinct nature and activity themes.

Culture and history

The Obélisque de Cramayel is a 25-metre-high stone monument topped by a gilded copper globe. It can be seen when approaching via Avenue Pierre Aubergé. The obelisk was erected in 1767 by François Fontaine, the lord of the Cramayel estate. It is partly protected as a historic monument; it was listed by decree dated 25 April 1975.

The Église de l’Assomption de Moissy-Cramayel was built in the 12th century and has been listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments since 1926. In the vicinity of Moissy-Cramayel is the Château de Courquetaine, which is classified as a castle.
