The forested areas therefore account for a significant part of the municipality. The surrounding forests can be accessed via walking trails leading from Favières.

Culture

The Église Saint-Martin includes an oldest section in the Romanesque style, which is believed to date from the 11th century. The choir and main altar's wood panelling dates from the 18th century. The church's large stained-glass window, dating from the mid-19th century, was completely restored in 2005.

The Chapelle de la Route-des-Grès was built in 1858 and bequeathed to the municipality of Favières in 1876. It has a rectangular plan without a transept, a semicircular apse, and a nave with a ceiling. A small bell turret stands above the façade.

The Jardins Japonais de Favières cover almost 9,000 m². They were created by landscape designer Sandrine Milic to introduce the public to the art of traditional Japanese gardens. The gardens can be explored independently or as part of guided tours; advance reservations are required for visits.

History

Favières was already a parish in the 9th century. A funerary monument is part of the heritage of the municipality of Favières and was moved to the Favières cemetery in March 1887.
