Saint-Augustin: Holiday Apartments and Houses

By decree dated 19 June 1972, the obelisk in Saint-Augustin was protected as a historic monument. The structure belongs to a major building phase in the final quarter of the 18th century and is attributed to the architect Claude Nicolas Ledoux.

Culture

The Chapelle Sainte-Aubierge is considered one of the two outstanding cultural heritage sites in Saint-Augustin. The Fontaine de Dévotion is associated with the cult of Sainte Aubierge; Sainte Aubierge is regarded as the third abbess of Faremoutiers and came to a spring in the village to pray.

Nature

The Cascade de l’Aubetin in the hamlet of Le Poncet in Saint-Augustin is a natural spectacle of rapids. At the Cascade de l’Aubetin, visitors can stop and enjoy the natural surroundings of the area.

The Aire de pique-nique du Montcet is located near the Montcet washhouse on the Aubetin and has three tables.

The Sentiers de l’Aubetin invite visitors to take a walk along the Aubetin River. Along the Sentiers de l’Aubetin, visitors experience the meanders of the Aubetin as they wind through rocks and streams. The walk along the Sentiers de l’Aubetin continues to the holiest place in the village.

Cuisine

The Fête de la Pomme has taken place for almost 50 years on the third weekend of October each year on the main street of Saint-Augustin. Apples are pressed throughout the weekend, and visitors can buy fresh apple juice in two-litre canisters.
