The hiking trail is listed as Hike No. 43 in the Topo pédestre Champagnole Nozeroy Jura. It highlights the Cascade du Moulinet. The interpretive trail also allows visitors to discover the Saut des Maillys and the remains of the Moulin du Saut.
Geographical Setting
The Source de l’Ain lies between the villages of Conte and La Favière at an elevation of 681 metres. It is also suitable for walks and relaxation in nature.
Nature
The Ain is a highly fish-rich Category One river. Brown trout, grayling, pike, whitefish and perch are among the fish caught there. Numerous birds, as well as beavers, wild boar, roe deer and otters, live along its banks.
Directions
To reach the starting point of the trail at the Source de l’Ain, follow the D17 between Conte and La Favière. There is a car park at the starting point, next to the information board.
La Ferme des Coucous in La Favière is a guesthouse offering guest rooms and a communal guest table. It also offers farm visits with miniature goats and donkeys.
