Nature
The Reculée de Grusse-Val-Sonnette is a natural attraction and a Jurassic reculée. A wooded combe characterizes its landscape. It is considered a Jurassic valley basin formed by the erosion of layered limestone deposits by water over a period of approximately 200 million years.
The Belvédère de la Madone offers a 360-degree panoramic view over the Bresse and the Burgundian hill landscapes. From Grusse, the viewpoint can be reached via the GR®59. The Reculée de Grusse-Val-Sonnette also has a picnic area.
Culture and townscape
Antoine Joseph Secrétan retired to Grusse in 1821 and had the Demeure Secrétan built there. The Demeure Secrétan is a neoclassical residence. Since March 28, 2008, the buildings and the tomb of the Demeure Secrétan have been protected as historic monuments.
Above the former altar of the Saint-Roch Chapel in Grusse, there is a stone bearing the year 1770. The townscape also includes traditional houses in Grusse: grouped stone buildings with roofs made of flat tiles.
Crafts and regional products
The Atelier du Grain d'Argile combines a workshop with an exhibition room showcasing Muriel Grosjean Kovarik's functional and decorative ceramics. There, she uses a Gallo-Roman terra sigillata technique and locally sourced earth for this purpose.
Throughout the year, thematic pottery courses and workshops are offered at the Atelier du Grain d'Argile. The 20-square-meter exhibition room is preferably visited by appointment.
Les Jardins de Grusse produces organically grown vegetables and seasonal red fruits in Grusse. Seasonal fruit and vegetables can be purchased there directly in seasonal baskets or by individual order.
