History

In the parish church of Saint Martin, the choir and the two chapels date from the 16th century. The upper part of the bell tower dates from the 17th century. Since 9 October 1970, the church in Vernantois has been a protected historic monument. Only a few remnants remain of Vernantois Castle, which was destroyed by the troops of Henry IV in 1595.
