The Monument d’Alièze was erected at the place where the bodies were burned by the Germans. It is located approximately 100 metres from the farm that had housed them.
The Monument d’Alièze can be reached from Lons-le-Saunier via the RD 52 towards Haut-Jura, then via the turn-off to Alièze and the small road to the Rippes d’Alièze until its end.

Culture and history
The parish church of Alièze, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, has a single-nave layout and two chapels. The former castle of Alièze consisted of a large tower on a rocky promontory with steep sides on three sides and had already been destroyed by 1340.
The two streets of Alièze cross at right angles and form the shape of a Greek cross. After its destruction in 1639, Alièze was rebuilt at the foot of the mountain dominated by the fortress.
Dairy farming
In 1875, the Alièze cheese dairy produced 12,889 kilograms of cheese from the milk of 145 cows. A new dairy was built north of the original Alièze cheese dairy in 1873 or 1874.
