Nature

The Belvédère du Bulay can be reached on foot from the village. Alternatively, you can park at the foot of the rock and climb an approximately 300-metre-long staircase to the summit. From there, there is a 360-degree panoramic view of the Jura mountain range, the green Saine Valley and the Combe d’Entre Côtes du Milieu; in clear weather, Mont Poupet and Mont Blanc can also be seen.

The route to the Source de la Saine begins in front of the Foncine-le-Haut tourist office at number 60; parking is available there or nearby. The hiking route is 11.5 kilometres long, classified as difficult and takes approximately three hours.

The Source de la Saine rises from a limestone basin with folded rock layers, fault lines and distinctive vegetation clinging to the rock. The Forêt du Paradis is suitable for hikes in the forest. The Forêt du Paradis also contains a biotope protection zone. The Tourbière de l’Entre Côtes du Milieu is a sensitive natural area classified as a Natura 2000 site.
