Nature
The Natura 2000 bird protection area “Vallées de la Loue et du Lison” (FR4312009) extends across part of the municipality of Grange-de-Vaivre. The area of Grange-de-Vaivre bordering the Loue is described as part of a Natura 2000 site.
The ZNIEFF area 430020422 “La Loue de Quingey à Arc-et-Senans” also includes Grange-de-Vaivre. In the floodplain described in this ZNIEFF, willows and hay meadows dominate the landscape. The tree frog species Hyla arborea was recorded there with confirmed or probable reproduction.
Culture
The Saumoduc was intended to transport salt water from Salins-les-Bains to Arc-et-Senans. The surviving masonry structures of the Saumoduc were listed as historic monuments by a decree dated 29 December 2009. A surviving culvert of the Saumoduc beneath the Route de Lyon near the Furieuse lies on the border with Grange-de-Vaivre.
Trails and activities
Grange-de-Vaivre is marked on the Sentier des Gabelous, a salt-route trail just over 20 kilometres long between Salins-les-Bains and Arc-et-Senans. The Club des Vagabonds, based in Grange-de-Vaivre, is responsible for maintaining the markings of around 30 kilometres of the Echappée Jurassienne.

The Fromagerie du Val de Loue processes exclusively organic milk and produces Comté, Morbier, Tome and Raclette. The cheeses from the Fromagerie du Val de Loue can be sampled in the cheese dairy’s shop.
