Culture

The substructures of the church and the Merovingian necropolis were classified as historic monuments by decree dated 2 February 1981. The Church of Saint Gengoul was built between 1750 and 1759; a bell from this church dating from 1767 was classified as a historic monument in 1942.

The local heritage also includes the Fontaine-lavoir Saint Gengoul washhouse, which was rebuilt in 1881 and restored in 1997. Chassey-lès-Montbozon still has four beautiful fountains.

The early Christian church and its necropolis are located on a peninsula between the bodies of water of the Domaine de Bonnal tourist resort. The early Christian church of Chassey-lès-Montbozon is still considered the oldest known church in Franche-Comté. Visits to the church and its necropolis are possible for groups by prior arrangement.

The archaeological remains of the ancient site of Chacé are located in a state archaeological reserve and are protected by a decree dated 12 February 2002.

Water and Paths

The Val de Bonnal leisure area offers a supervised swimming lake. Within the same leisure area, the Domaine des Grands Lacs is a privately owned site open to the public. There are around four kilometres of walking paths around the lakes.

The Le Perroquet bleu circular trail starts at the former town hall and leads towards the church. It has an elevation difference of plus or minus 24 metres and is suitable for families.
