Nature

The valley of Fresse is framed by the Radelon (Raddon), a small tributary of the Ognon. More than 14 km² of the commune’s 27 km² area is covered by forest.

La Bormillière is a moderately difficult 7 km-long hiking trail starting in Fresse. The trail offers an impression of Fresse’s scattered settlement structure, with around thirty hamlets. Its ridgeline provides views of Ternuay, the Plateau des 1000 Étangs and the wooded hills of the southern Vosges. This plateau forms a mosaic landscape of ponds, streams, meadows, marshes and forests and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.

Culture

The Church of Saint-Antide in Fresse contains two bas-reliefs depicting Saint Michael and Saint Francis. Both are made of carved and painted wood and date from the 18th century.

The two bas-reliefs are registered as protected cultural heritage; the protection was registered on 6 November 1974.
