Luxeuil-Les-Bains: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The present-day thermal baths of Luxeuil-les-Bains were rebuilt in the 18th century and remain among the oldest thermal baths still in operation in France. Restoration work in the 1930s gave the interior an Art Deco style characterised by numerous mosaics. Luxeuil lace became particularly renowned due to the widespread popularity of lace during the Second Empire.

The Basilica of Saint-Pierre de Luxeuil-les-Bains was formerly the abbey church of the Benedictine monastery of Saint Columban. It combines Romanesque and Gothic styles; its walls are made of pink Vosges sandstone. It also has a 17th-century organ with 3,137 pipes.
The Ecclesia, with the remains of the Church of Saint-Martin, presents 2,000 years of history in Luxeuil-les-Bains. The town also has 380 graves, including 150 Merovingian sarcophagi, bearing witness to 2,000 years of urban history.
The Jules Adler Museum divides its collections into three themes: the painter of ordinary people, Jules Adler’s childhood in Luxeuil and his artistic training, and the diversity of his work. It displays paintings, sketches and personal belongings from the artistic milieu and personal life of the painter Jules Adler.
The Tour des Echevins was built in the 15th century and is 33 metres high. It houses one of the oldest museums in France and has a roof terrace with panoramic views over Luxeuil-les-Bains and the surrounding area.
Walking Routes
The Sentier du patrimoine is a heritage trail through Luxeuil-les-Bains with 14 stops. It provides access to monuments, some of which are among the 17 sites classified as historic monuments. An audio guide can be hired for €2 at the tourist office reception.
The Circuit du Haut-Bois is an easy, 6-kilometre circular walk that takes around two hours and starts and finishes in Luxeuil-les-Bains.
The Conservatoire de la Dentelle welcomes visitors, who can watch the lacemakers at work. It also offers introductory and advanced courses in lace-making.
Local Traditions
Jambon de Luxeuil is part of the Comtois tradition of cured and smoked products. Visitors can tour a Jambon de Luxeuil ham-drying room with Arnaud and take part in a tasting at the end.
The night markets of Luxeuil-les-Bains take place every Tuesday evening in July and August in the town centre.
